Design by NH (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through designbynh.com, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
We are a design and web services business based in Ontario, Canada. We handle personal information in accordance with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, for commercial email, Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
1. Information you give us
We collect information you choose to submit, including through our contact forms, quote requests, client questionnaires, and consultation bookings. Depending on the form, this may include:
- Name and business name
- Email address and phone number
- Mailing or shipping address
- Project details, artwork, files, and any other content you send us
- Signatures and related details where you sign a document electronically
You do not have to give us this information, but we may not be able to quote or deliver work without it.
2. Information collected automatically
When you visit the site, some information is collected automatically:
- IP address and approximate location
- Browser type, device type, and operating system
- Pages viewed, referring page, and time spent
- Security and error logs kept to protect the site
3. Cookies and tracking technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, remember preferences, measure performance, and support advertising. These include:
- Essential cookies — required for the site to function, including caching and security.
- Analytics cookies — Google Analytics 4, to understand how the site is used in aggregate.
- Advertising cookies — Google Ads and the Meta (Facebook and Instagram) Pixel, used to measure ad performance and to show you relevant ads after you leave our site.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect how parts of the site work.
4. Advertising and remarketing
We advertise on Google and Meta platforms. These services may set cookies or use similar identifiers to:
- Measure which ads lead to enquiries (conversion tracking)
- Show our ads to you on other websites, on Facebook, or on Instagram after you have visited us (remarketing)
- Build aggregated audience insights
We do not sell your personal information. You can opt out of personalised Google advertising at Google Ads Settings, and adjust Meta ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram account settings.
5. How we use your information
- To respond to enquiries and prepare quotes
- To deliver, invoice, and support the work you have engaged us for
- To send transactional email such as confirmations and project updates
- To send marketing email where you have consented, which you may withdraw at any time
- To maintain the security and performance of the site
- To meet legal, tax, and record-keeping obligations
6. Email and your CASL consent
We send commercial email only where we have your express or implied consent under CASL. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and we honour opt-outs promptly. We will still send you transactional messages relating to work in progress.
7. Who we share information with
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run our business, and only as needed:
- Google — analytics and advertising
- Meta Platforms — advertising and measurement
- Our web host and email delivery provider — to operate the site and send email
- Electronic signature provider — where you sign a document online
- Professional advisors or authorities — where required by law
8. International transfers
Some of our providers store or process data outside Canada, including in the United States. Where that happens, your information may be subject to the laws of those countries and accessible to their courts and authorities. We take reasonable steps to ensure it remains protected.
9. How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, or as required by law. Enquiry and quote records are typically kept for up to seven years to meet business and tax record-keeping obligations. Analytics data is retained according to the provider’s standard retention period.
10. Security
The site is served over HTTPS and protected by security hardening and monitoring. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Your rights
Under PIPEDA you may:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you and request access to it
- Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete
- Withdraw consent, subject to legal or contractual limits
- Ask us to delete information we no longer need
- Make a complaint to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada
To make a request, email [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.
12. Children
The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Third-party links
Our site links to other websites. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices, and we encourage you to read their policies.

We may update this policy from time to time. The revised version takes effect when posted, and the “last updated” date above will change.
